The Honours Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree programme in Aeronautical Engineering at the University of Limerick (UL) provides a gateway into the hugely exciting aerospace industry.
This elite course is one of the most respected in Europe, and is supported by outstanding facilities including wind tunnels and composites manufacturing equipment.
The course is accredited by Engineers Ireland and is the only NFQ Level 8 degree course in Aeronautical Engineering in the Republic of Ireland. Through international agreement with Engineers Ireland, the course is recognised worldwide as satisfying the educational requirements for Chartered Engineering Status.
On completion of the B.E. course, students can choose to study for a fifth year to obtain an M.Eng. in Aeronautical Engineering.
The Masters course, the MEng in Aeronautical Engineering is a one-year taught Masters Degree. This course is the one of its kind in the state providing training in advanced topics in Aeronautical Engineering. The programme was developed in response to the needs of the aerospace sector, which requires graduates with advanced skills in aeronautical design, analysis and testing. The course also satisfies the Engineers Ireland requirement that a Master's degree in an engineering discipline will be the minimum educational standard for Chartered Engineer status for students graduating in 2013.
