Engineering Scholarships UK
Funding for many students is a key part in deciding whether to study overseas.
SET Funding is committed to bringing you information on all scholarships and
financial aid available in the UK.
The following engineering, manufacturing and IT undergraduate scholarships
are available to students who will be commencing an IET accredited degree
course* at university in 2008:
- Jubilee Scholarship & BP Faraday Lecture Scholarship
No. of awards & Value: 12 awards - £1,000(Jubilee) and £3,000 (Faraday) per annum
To assist outstanding students, embarking on an IET accredited* MEng degree course, to obtain professional qualifications in electrical, electronic, IT, manufacturing or related engineering, in the UK or Ireland.
- Belling Engineering Scholarship
No. of awards & Value: 1 award - £3,000 per annum
To assist outstanding students, embarking on an electrical or manufacturing accredited* BEng or MEng degree course, in the UK or Ireland.
- Cisco Systems Scholarship
No. of awards & Value: 1 award - £1,000 per annum
To encourage students to undertake accredited* MEng degree courses in the field of Electronics, Software, Computer, Information Technology and related engineering subjects at a university in the UK or Ireland.
- National Electronics Council Scholarship
No. of awards & Value: 4 awards available - £1,000 per annum
To assist British students with A Levels, Advanced Higher, BTEC or Advanced GNVQ qualifications, entering an IET accredited* MEng degree in Electronics, Computer or Information Engineering, in the UK or Ireland.
- IET Engineering Degree Scholarships for Women
No. of awards & Value: 10 awards - £1,000 per annum
For the purpose of encouraging female students in their penultimate or final year of college, or sixth form, to enter the engineering profession.
- The Power Academy
No. of awards & Value: 61 awards - £2,200 available in 2008
The Power Academy is an engineering scholarship fund for students who are studying (or who would like to study) on an IET accredited degree course* in
electrical engineering at participating universities (Cardiff, Imperial College London, Queen’s University, Belfast, Manchester, Southampton or Strathclyde). The Power Academy will offer you support and finance for the duration of your university course, as well as providing you with a summer placement with one of the partner companies.
- IET FUSE Scholarship
No. of awards & Value: 50 awards - £1,000 per annum
To assist students of high ability in need of financial support, who are in their penultimate year of college, or who are about to commence an IET accredited degree course* in the UK or Ireland. Applicants must be receiving a DfES loan or grant.
- Hawtin Scholarship
No. of awards & Value: 1 award- £1,000 per annum
Awarded to students, from the North West of England, who are about to commence an IET accredited degree course* in the UK or Ireland. Applicants must be receiving a DfES loan or grant.
- William Morley Bursary
No. of awards & Value: 1 award - Discretionary (minimum: £500)
To assist needy electrical, electronic, manufacturing or information engineering students who are citizens of either Zimbabwe, or the UK, in the furtherance of their studies.
