Imperial College is widely acknowledged as Europe’s leading technological institution. The Centre for Composite Materials provides graduates with excellent teaching and research facilities and is highly respected throughout the world. The Centre was awarded the highest grade (5*) in the latest Research Assessment Exercise and achieved the maximum 24 points in the latest Teaching Quality Assessment from the Higher Education Funding Council for England.
The Centre provides a full-time, one-year course leading to an MSc in Composite Materials. The course is interdisciplinary and covers all aspects of the subject. Entry qualifications are normally a good first degree (or equivalent) in engineering, mathematics or science (Physics, Chemistry or Materials). Other qualifications can be considered if backed up with substantial and relevant industrial experience.
Supervision is also offered for MPhil and PhD research degrees in a wide range of topics related to composite materials. The Centre carries out research contracts with a large number of organisations, and most projects, whether MSc or research, are in conjunction with industry.
