M.Sc. in Biomedical Sciences Research


This programme is delivered by staff from all of the Departments within the School of Medical Sciences and provides training in several of the principal areas of current research in the Biomedical Sciences. The programme is focused on experimental science and provides practical experience of basic and specialist techniques. It also provides opportunities for specialisation in selected research topics. The lecture-based Units are centred on six themes: Neuroscience, Neuropharmacology, Cardiovascular Research, Cancer Biology, Infection and Immunity and The Dynamic Cell. Literary and research projects allow students to explore specifi c research areas in more detail.


The programme extends over one year, is full time and admits 20 students per year.
Applicants should have a good first Degree and evidence of practical ability.

 

Applicants whose fi rst language is not English require a minimum overall score of 7.0 in the British Council IELTS test.
